How I created my contents pages:

Firstly, I chose my background colour and masthead font and colour.

Secondly, once I had positioned my masthead correctly, I started to add information and images.

Then, I added more content/features, as well as added changing the image I had originally put on my contents page. I also, changed the font colour, from red to pink, as it didn't look girly/pop-y enough.

I continued to added more features, as well as adding another image with a caption. I also moved around a few items so that it would look better.

I then continued to add more features and images. I did have to re-arrange a few thing to make everything fit, but I think it works well now.

Designing my Music Magazine: Front Cover

How I created my front cover:

Firstly, I chose my main central image and a smaller image. I also experimented with the masthead font and colours and I decided to make the masthead bright blue and modern because it stands out and fits in with the genre of pop being bright and fun.

Secondly, I made the final choice of what font I was going to use for the headlines and cover-lines on my front cover (Century Gothic, Bold). I also added more information/stories to my front cover.

Then, I create a barcode using a font I had downloaded for dafont.com. I also had to re-arrange a few of my stories to make sure that the barcode was in the correct place (bottom right corner.

Finally, I added the date and issue number to the top of my front cover. Also,I made sure that all of my information and images were in the correct place and that all my fonts and colours were correct.

Treatment for my Music Magazine

TARGET READERSHIP

•My target audience will be females aged between 16 – 24 years. My magazine will mostly target this audience because it will contain modern artists (such as; Rihanna and Olly Murs) as well as gossip and fashion advice.

•My magazine’s target audience will fall into the C1/C2 socioeconomic and will be mainstreamers and aspirers.

•My target audience are into fashion and gossip and are very social. They like going out and spending time with their friends.

•This magazine would also suit women who work as they could read it on their lunch breaks.

FORM AND STYLE

•My magazine will be an A4, full colour magazine, which will contain interviews, gossip and fashion, tour dates, advice as well as news and reviews. The main cover image will be of celebrities from within the target age group (16 - 24 years) both male and female. This will appeal to the young side of the target audience.

•The main colour will be bright, modern and eye-catching to fit in the modern artists that are being talked about within the magazine.

•I do not want my music magazine to be too expensive, so I will probably not charge more than £2.00 for it.

THEMES AND TYPICAL FEATURES

•My music magazine will have the typical features of a music magazine, such as; interviews, tour dates and reviews on music, and even films. As well as gossip, advice and fashion pages.

•My  music magazine will also give the reader all the latest news on celebs and hold at least one competition each issue.

•The language will be informal to fit in with the age range of my target audience.

POTENTIAL ADVERTISERS

•A range of brands will be advertised in my music magazine (manly albums releases), for example; GHD hair products, Skullcandy earphones and fashion shops like New Look.

•There will also be advertisements for health products such as; Always, Tresemme and E45 moisturisers.

EDITORIAL TEAM

•The editorial team for my music magazine will mostly be woman who aged in their early twenties. This means that they will know what my target audience are into music wise, as they are from that age range as well.

•However, there will be a few males working on my editorial team, so that the magazine will have a elements that males will like reading.
